Terms and Conditions of Service
Welcome to Babsy Cleaning. By accessing our platform, booking a service, or registering as a professional, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Platform Role and Responsibilities
Babsy Cleaning operates as an introductory agency and booking platform across the United Kingdom. We provide the digital infrastructure to connect customers seeking domestic cleaning services with independent, vetted professional cleaners.
- The Contract: When a booking is confirmed, the primary contract for the provision of cleaning services is formed directly between the Customer and the assigned Cleaning Professional.
- Our Liability: Babsy Cleaning is responsible for the platform functionality, secure payment routing, and initial introductory vetting. We are not liable for any damages, losses, or disputes arising directly from the physical cleaning service provided by the independent professional.
2. Booking and Payment Authorization
We utilize a secure, automated framework to ensure trust between all parties:
- Security Holds: Upon requesting a quote, a temporary payment authorization hold is placed on the customer's payment card. No funds are officially captured or transferred until the assigned professional explicitly accepts the job offer.
- Cancellations by Customer: Customers may cancel a booking. If a booking is cancelled prior to the professional accepting the job, the temporary hold is released instantly with no fees applied.
- Platform Overrides: Babsy Cleaning administration reserves the right to void any booking, claw back pending payouts, and issue full refunds to customers in the event of service failure or unresolvable disputes.
3. Professional Cleaners (Marketplace Participants)
Cleaners operating on the platform are independent contractors, not employees of Babsy Cleaning.
- Professionals receive an agreed percentage of the total booking fee, processed securely via Stripe Connect.
- Professionals are responsible for their own tax liabilities, travel arrangements, and adherence to local UK service standards.
Privacy and Data Protection Policy
Your privacy is taken seriously. This policy dictates how Babsy Cleaning collects, uses, and protects your personal data in strict compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data We Collect
To facilitate our marketplace network efficiently, we collect the following data:
- Customer Data: Full name, email address, contact phone number, and physical property address required for service delivery.
- Professional Data: Full name, contact details, service area preferences, and strictly necessary identity verification documentation.
- Payment Data: All financial transactions are processed directly through our secure partner (Stripe). Babsy Cleaning does not store or have direct access to your full credit card numbers or bank account details.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to operate the Babsy Cleaning platform:
- To route booking details (Name, Address, Job Requirements) to your assigned independent cleaner.
- To dispatch automated operational emails (receipts, booking confirmations, and cancellation notices).
- To improve our platform security and prevent fraudulent transactions.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We will never sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with:
- Assigned Professionals: Cleaners receive your address and name only when a job is officially offered and locked in.
- Stripe: Our payment gateway requires basic identification details to process security holds, splits, and refunds.
4. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You maintain full control over your personal information. You have the right to request access to the data we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate data, or request the permanent deletion of your profile and history from our servers. To exercise these rights, please contact our administration team at cu**********@**************co.uk.
